1 February, 2006: If you can no longer uncompress NGS data, it probably means that you have changed computers and not replaced the "unzip.exe" file directly under c: . Click here to download unzip.exe, place the file directly in the c: root directory. 15 November, 2004: It was noted that SEMMS generated the following error when attempting to import an AE submittal from AESemms: "Runtime error 1004 - Method ~ of object ~ failed." This error is corrected in Version 4.40 of SEMMS. 6 November, 2003: CESWL noted a problem when trying to import monument establishment date from an Excel spreadsheet. The problem was caused by the TSDSS standard that date be represented in a long field in the format "YYYYMMDD". This problem is corrected in version 4.39 of SEMMS. 11 April, 2003: CESAW noted an error when defragmenting (compressing) the SEMMS database. This is corrected in SEMMS version 4.38. Did you know?? The SEMMS import linkages file used for importing monuments from an external database into SEMMS, typically an ASCII text file, can also be an Excel file. An Excel file which can be downloaded by clicking on the following link can be used for importing monuments from an external SEMMS-format database into the local SEMMS database causing the internal latitude/longitude coordinates to be recomputed.
24 January, 2003: CESPK pointed out some SEMMS programming errors. The SEMMS search summary was modified to show the original horizontal and vertical datum values if no coordinate conversion was performed. Also, the custom export to Excel capability was corrected to only export the fields selected by the user. 26 December, 2002: SEMMS output capability has been significantly enhanced by the addition of options for outputting to Notepad or directly to Excel. These additional output capabilities are available for printing search query results and for the customized output report. If you are currently having trouble printing monument summaries or detail sheets, then these new output options will allow printing. 18 December, 2002: CESWG has requested a password capability to prevent accidentally being able to delete all monumentation records from the database. This version enables the Delete Database button on the Database Management interface only when a password has been entered correctly. E-mail mike@riversrus.com or call (256) 771-0014 for the password. 19 November, 2002: CENAP noticed that when the description tab of the Monument Details form was displayed for a monument which had a desciption and then for a monument that did not have a description, that the description field was not cleared but still contained the description from the first monument displayed. This error has been corrected in Version 4.34, Dated 19 November, 2002. 19 October, 2002: In addressing the SEMMS errors encountered by CENWP, additional corrections were required in the NGS import functionality. These errors have been corrected in Version 4.33. Also, embedded comma import errors were encountered in Harney County in Oregon and in Cowlitz and Grant Counties in Washington. SEMMS was failing to run a DOS shell program which uncompressed the NGS data. In this situation, the NGS data must be uncompressed manually and then SEMMS will import it. 17 October, 2002: CESWL noted that SEMMS fails to convert Elevation from Svy Feet to Meters when the output vertical datum is the same as the input vertical datum. This has been corrected in Version 4.31. 27 September, 2002: CESAM noted that the SEMMS Merge/Import monuments function does not import District specific PID. It also does not import project elevation, project datum, station, contract number, or work order number. This has been corrected in Version 4.30. 26 September, 2002: CESAM noted that SEMMS does not export District Specific PID when exporting an external database file from search results. This field was not exported along with project elevation, project datum, station, contract number, or work order number. This has been corrrected in Version 4.29. 26 September, 2002: CENAP noted that SEMMS does not update the recovery narrative or visible monument descriptions on the "Modify Monument" form. This has been corrected in version 4.28. 27 August, 2002: A problem was noted where SEMMS calculates incorrect positions in Texas and would have this same problem in Wyoming. If you have monuments in these States, you should be using this latest version of SEMMS. This was corrected in Version 4.27. 27 August, 2002: There was another problem with Florida State Plane West NAD 27 in the Corpscon conversion source code which SEMMS utilizes for it's geodetic conversions. To correct SEMMS, download the following file by right-clicking on it and then selecting the "Save Target As" option.
